The Perfect Summer Party Cocktail

The Perfect Summer Party Cocktail

Changing things up a bit, I thought I’d share one of the most favourite things I like about summer. If you follow me on Snapchat, you’d know I’m always up and about, chasing the perfect sunset accompanied by the yummiest cocktail. One of my favourite concoctions is the sangria. It has its roots from Spain and Portugal and is essentially a punch consisting of wine, chopped fruit and other ingredients some mixologists would hold sacred. Today, I’ll be sharing my own little twist on this classic using Bernini Ruby Berry as the secret ingredient.

Because I’m not the biggest fan of red wine, I am adapting the classic white wine berry Sangria to suit my taste. A sangria should be three things: refreshing, fruity and boozy. For the boozy, I’m reaching for the new sparkly, strawberry and red berry flavoured Bernini Ruby Berry, for the fruity, I’m chopping and dicing a mixture of berries, strawberries, raspberries to compliment the sweet aromas already present in Ruby Berry, and to keep our summer cocktail refreshing, a bit of crushed ice and mint for garnish will do the trick.

The easiest way to make any punch or in this case, sangria, is to get a giant pitcher, mix all the ingredients together, and the pour into however many glasses and lastly, garnishing to taste.

You’ll Need:

  • x2 Bernini Ruby Berry Sparkling Grape Frizzante
  • x1 cup of strawberries
  • x1 cup of blueberries
  • x1 cup of raspberries
  • x2 mint leaves
  • lemonade
  • lots of ice to chill

I begin by vertically slicing my strawberries into small to medium sized chunks. Sangrias are best served chilled so I begin halfway filling each tumbler with some ice after which I add the strawberries. I then pour Bernini Ruby Berry Sparkling Grape Frizzante into each tumbler leaving about 1/3 empty in order to add a handful of blueberries, raspberries and any remaining strawberries. This step is optional but this is where I also add a dash of lemonade for some added sweetness and of course a mint leaf as a refreshing garnish.

It’s such a delicious cocktail and easy enough to make meaning your party guests can join in on the fun too!
