The Urban Decay Naked Palette

I recently popped into House of Fraser to get the Urban Decay Naked Palette.  I decided to purchase the original Naked 1 Palette because the golden/bronze tones are more suited to my complexion. After leaving the store I immediately felt like I needed the Naked 3 palette for its pink and rose gold hues seeing as that is what has been declared “in” for spring 2014.

It’s so unfortunate that Urban Decay isn’t sold in South Africa so I knew that it would be the first thing I would want to get my hands on as soon as I landed. This palette has been added to my holy grail list of beauty products and I strongly recommend it for warmer to deeper skin tones. It’s ridiculously flattering and there is huge colour pay-off. You’re definitely getting value for your money.

A closer look at the darker side of Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette. Creep and Gunmetal are perfect for creating a smouldering smokey eye. Use Darkhorse for  a daytime brown smokey look.
Getting down to the specs of the product: when purchasing, you will be getting 12 highly pigmented eye-shadows. 10 shimmery shades and 2 matte shades. Some MUA’s have been slightly annoyed at the fact that it only comes with 2 matte shades but I am not particularly bothered by it seeing as I am not a professional MUA. The palette also comes with a two-sided brush which is perfect for shading while the opposite, more flatter end can be used for packing on the product. I on the other hand, would use it to get some of the gold shadow on the inner corners of the eyes.
Toasted and Hustle (better captured in image above) are gorgeous rose gold hues. Good to keep you going if you’re thinking about the Naked 3 Palette
Although I have an eye-shadow primer, I have never felt the need to use it with the Urban Decay Naked palette. The shadows have amazing long wearing, long lasting power so don’t be too bummed if you missed out on getting their free eye-shadow primer like I did.

The lighter side of the Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette work perfectly for a subtle summer shimmery look.

Still need more convincing? This palette is EVERYTHING!
