…because nobody’s got time for that!
So how much of a drag is it to get home and have to fuss and shlep in an effort to remove the days dirt and grime? I am certified Queen of the Lazies and the absolute LAST thing I feel like doing after getting home from a hard days work is scrubbing my face of makeup, dirt, sweat and other icky build-up. Nevertheless, it must be done!
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
Where: Clicks, Dis-Chem
I’ve had my eye on these for the longest time. Not too sure as to why it took me so long to grab a set but I am obsessed. These towelettes are super effective for removing all traces makeup including waterproof mascara.
I find the towelette most effective when I press it on my face allowing it to dissolve makeup after which I gently sweep the towelette away and off my face. I repeat this process until my entire face is cleaned to my satisfaction.
I haven’t found it to be too drying or dehydrating at all. Most makeup remover wipes have me rushing for my night cream immediately after but not the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
Price: R80 for 400ml
While my cleansing towelettes do a great job in ridding my face of makeup as well as general dirt and oil build up, I do crave an extra cleanser. The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water just landed on South African shores and I couldn’t be more excited. A light squeeze produces a liberal amount on my cotton pad and I proceed to gently erase further traces of makeup and suit buildup in circular motions. It’s great for sensitive skins and I don’t have to worry about applying near my eye area as it is safe to use there too.
After effectively cleansing I reach for my Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner which helps to further rid my skin of impurities while also reconditioning it. Alcohol-free toners don’t allow for the skin to ‘be stripped of its natural moisture – another reason why this is a favourite of mine.
After cleansing and toning, I’m now ready for my nighttime moisturising routine.
