The cost of beauty can be taxing on the wallet. It’s why I am ever so grateful for stores like Clicks that cater for a wide range of consumers. While I am a seasoned beauty buyer, I often find myself popping in to stock up on some of my holy grail make-up brushes, false eyelashes and favorite nail polishes. Even more so, I love the fact that you can often get a lot of your much-loved goodies on special offer – their 3 for 2 promotion is amazing – or at a discounted price. Clicks is notorious for their seasonal beauty fairs and this winter is no exception. In this post, I’ll be taking you through some of my favourites from my favourite drugstore and if you stick until the end, you’ll find out how you can win your very own Clicks beauty hamper valued at R5 000!
The majority of my tutorials feature one kind of make-up brush brand – Real Techniques. I first encountered them whilst living in the UK and was beyond ecstatic when they finally made their way to South Africa. British based YouTubers and sisters, Sam and Nic, created a make-up brush line set to rival some of the best in the business and at a much more affordable price point. Some of my favourites include the Expert Face Brush, Stippling Brush and the Eye Shade + Blend duo.
Something else I often get from Clicks are my false eyelashes. I am always asked which lashes I prefer and without fail I reply, “Eylure Texture 117“. These are the prettiest natural looking lashes for daily wear. Their wispy, lightweight design is set to elongate and add tasteful volume to your own without looking too artificial or fake. If you’re waiting to dip your toes into the false lash life, I suggest trying your hand at these. They already come with pre-glued technology so there’s minimal fussing when it comes to applying an adhesive. They are also reusable, provided you take good care of them.
When it comes to taking care of my hair, Garnier Ultimate Blends has been a huge hit. I am particularly a fan of the Sleek Restorer bundle which helps dry, frizzy hair achieve super-sleek smoothness. The main ingredients include coconut oil and cocoa butter – major favorites concerning afro textured hair and even wigs and weaves.
When it comes to taking off my make-up, I prefer a good wash over the sink. But, there are days when a good cleansing wipe or cleansing water will do. I always keep the Bioderma Sensibio H20 in my beauty arsenal. There’s a handy travel size that accompanies the larger 250ml make-up removing micelle solution. Read my review, it may convince you to pick up your very own.
And finally, if you’ve been following me for long enough, you’d know that I have done my own nails for a while. Of late, however, I have sought out a professional nail technician but I still have my favourites when it comes to nail polish shades that I love. Essie is my ride-or-die nail polish brand and some of my go-to shades include Lady Like, Picked Perfect, Merino Cool and Coconut Cove. As you can tell, I have a thing for nudes. Essie Nail Lacquers are on the higher end of the price spectrum but it goes without saying that you get exceptional quality when purchasing.
There is so much to take advantage of this winter at Clicks. Note that Real Techniques, Eylure Lash Kits and Garnier Ultimate Blends are currently on a 3 for 2 promotion so make sure that you take advantage.
