Elizabeth Arden Gelato Crush Colour

Elizabeth Arden Gelato Crush Colour

What else screams summer other than a decent scoop of gelato? It’s one of my favourite dessert treats to indulge in and it’s so fitting that Elizabeth Arden have come out with a colour collection perfect for the new season. From plumping lip liners to creamy plush lipsticks, there’s a little something for everyone to revel in without fear of adding on those extra kilos.

Elizabeth Arden Plush Up Lip Gelato

I’m a believer in the liquid lip. It’s matte, no fuss and known to stay put for most of the day. I do, however, love the idea of swapping out heavier products with more lightweight, summer-appropriate alternatives. This season, moisture over matte wins and the new Elizabeth Arden Plush Up Lip Gelato is faultless. Candy Girl, Natural Blush and Strawberry Sorbet make up the trio pictured below and the cute names already have me salivating. There are, however, ten balmy shades to choose from each retailing for R295. Their creamy, gel-like formula is owed to the presence of Shea butter, peptides and Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin A, E and Rosemary extract as well as “gellified” film formers which help to “create a cushion-like texture whilst also helping lock in moisture and colour”. Basically, it’s the ultimate hydra-boosting concoction fit for combating dry, humid air. If you like a good nude like me, Natural Blush will be right up your alley, but if you want to subtly “WOW” at the office, a deep Black Cherry will do the trick.

Elizabeth Arden Plump Up Lip Liner

These Gelato Crush lip liners have to be a favourite! They are possibly some of the creamiest liners I have tried to date and I am absolutely obsessed with the formula. Once again, smooth and creamy can be used to describe these and I also find them to be a lot more long-wearing and pigmented than the Plush Up Lip Gelato’s which although designed to be sheer, it’s good to know that these liners exist should you wish to intensify the colour of the Plush Up Lip Gelato’s touch. For R225, you get a dual-ended applicator meaning seamless filling in and blending. And like it’s lipstick counterpart, the Elizabeth Arden Plump Up Lip Liner is formulated with plumping and firming peptides as well as “gellified” film formers allowing for a smooth glide of colour to “help lock in colour for long-wear.” Locally, there are five fun shades to choose from and Kiss of Coral and Vintage Pink are pictured below (the two swatches closest to my palm).
